How to Join
The only way to get in on most of our events is to join our listserv! Please write to QAthletics@gmail.com and ask for a subscription. And if you'd like, we also appreciate knowing which sports you're interested in.
Confidentiality
In order to preserve the privacy of those who are not out to their friends or family, membership in the list and the club at large is kept confidential unless you grant express permission otherwise. No one except the club's secretary will know that you are subscribed.
Should I join?
EVERYONE is welcome at Queer and Ally Athletics! For your safety, full participation at some functions may require certain levels of proficiency or certifications, however we strive to train or certify beginners at the start of each semester so that everyone can participate.
I don't know if I'll have enough time...
The club has no fees and no regular meetings--you can just show up at whichever events are convenient. Even if it's just once a semester, we'd love for you to participate.
Listserv rules
We are committed to reducing the vast quantity of irrelevant material sent out by listservs. To serve that end, please try to limit your e-mails to around once a week, and messages MUST directly relate to athletics. Messages about regular events may be consolidated by the secretary into a weekly announcement.
Change membership
Leave the listserv
If you move away from Athens or just don't want to receive messages from our listserv, e-mail the phrase "SIGNOFF QATHLETICS" (without quotes) to LISTSERV@LISTSERV.UGA.EDU. No subject line is necessary. You need to send this message from the address where you receive listserv mail (important if your mail is forwarded automatically from another address).
The button below will open your default mail client, which often doesn't work for web-based e-mail (e.g. gmail or yahoo).
Reduce mail volume
You can reduce the volume of e-mails from any UGA listserv to one e-mail per day, consolidating all messages for the day into one large one. Note that any announcement regarding an event being held on that very day will not get to you in time.
E-mail the command "SET QATHLETICS DIGEST" (without quotes) to LISTSERV@LISTSERV.UGA.EDU to make this change. You can replace "QATHLETICS" with the name of other UGA listservs and greatly reduce the volume of listserv mail in your inbox.
